Ecological relationships

Each rounded leaf stores water while presenting relatively little outer area for its volume. A narrow translucent band allows light to reach photosynthetic tissue inside the leaf. Where trailing stems meet suitable ground, nodes may form roots and extend the plant locally.

Care principle

Reproduce the function of the native setting rather than copying a watering calendar. Check light, temperature, root-zone air, drainage, and the plant’s current growth before acting.
